Three injured in Melbourne balcony collapse

THREE people have been taken to hospital after a balcony collapsed underneath their feet at a home in Melbourne’s south-west.

Emergency crews were called to the Point Cook home around 3.45pm local time on Sunday. They arrived to find a second-floor wooden balcony had collapsed and fallen about four metres to the ground.

A man aged in his 60s suffered a laceration to his head, while a man aged in his 40s suffered an injury to his knee. A woman aged in her 20s sustained a shoulder injury.


All three were treated by paramedics at the scene before being transported to hospital in a stable condition.
