THREE people have died and a number of others have been injured following separate horror crashes in the state’s north.
A car and truck collided head-on alongthe Bruce Highway at Mutarnee around 6.30pm last night.
The driver of the car, a 27-year-old Bambaroo man, died at the scene.

While the driver of the truck, a 60-year-old Beenleigh man, suffered serious injuries and was taken to hospital for treatment.
Further north, around midnight, a Toyota Landcruiser crashed into the back of a Mazda 3.
Police said the force caused the Mazda 3 to then crash into a Mitsubishi Lancer, which in turn hit another four-wheel-drive.
A 26-year-old woman and a 23-year-old man died at the scene.
Four others were left with minor injuries, including a 31-year-old male driver who was taken into custody by police.
Officers from the Forensic Crash Unit are continuing investigations into both crashes.
