Three local charities to benefit from Telstra Robina’s Connect Community Program

Three local charities and community groups are set to receive funding as a part of a local community engagement project run by Telstra Store Robina.

Friends with Dignity, LifeFlight or Tails of the Forgotten have been chosen to receive funding in the first round of Telstra Robina’s Connect Community Program, with Gold Coasters to determine the amount each organisation will be awarded.

Telstra Store Robina Manager Michael Zorko said anyone who visits Telstra Store Robina this month will be able place a vote.

“We are proud to support three diverse but equally deserving organisations. We hope to see the local Robina community backing a great cause,” he said.

In total, over $1000 will be donated to local charities and community groups, with the group that receives the highest number of votes receiving $750.

The Telstra Store Robina team invites locals to come into store before 31st May 2018 to vote for the charity closest to their heart.

Here is some more information about each organisation:

  • Tails of the Forgotten rescue, rehabilitate and rehome dogs in need, and also provide vet care when necessary. It is their mission to educate the community in maintaining commitment to their dogs and reduce the number of surrenders.
  • LifeFlight provide rapid response medical care to thousands of people each year. With the foundation based out of Robina, they provide the finest medical care to seriously sick and injured patients across Australia.
  • Friends with Dignity assist people who have been displaced by domestic violence. They work with registered agencies to turn houses into welcoming sanctuaries for impacted men, women and children.
