Three Logan teens charged after armed Surfers Paradise crime spree

Three teenage boys have been charged after an armed robbery and two other attempts in Surfers Paradise overnight.

It’s alleged the boys approached a 16-year-old boy on The Esplanade, threatened him with a knife and demanding property, though the victim showed that he did not have any property.

The group then tried approached a 24-year-old man, threatened him with a knife and demanded property.


The victim handed over less than $10 in coins and the group left.

Around 11.00pm, one of the teens allegedly snatched a phone from a 24-year-old man at a bus stop and fled.

The 24-year-old chased after him, and an altercation broke out before the group threatened him with knives and got away.

The victim received a wound to his left elbow in the incident.

Police patrols throughout the area located the trio on a tram nearby, where they uncovered the stolen phone and weapons during a search.

A 15-year-old Bahrs Scrub boy and 15-year-old Meadowbrook boy have each been charged with one count each of armed robbery in company with violence whilst armed.

A 15-year-old Waterford boy has been charged with one count of robbery in company.

Each will be dealt with under the provisions of the Youth Justice Act.
