Queensland residents are being warned to remain vigilant after three snake bites in Queensland yesterday, one fatal.
A 62-year-old man was bitten on the hand by a suspected brown snake or taipan while walking through long grass on his property, north of Townsville on Sunday.
The man’s wife and daughter performed CPR and phoned 000, however he sadly passed away at the scene.

Later that afternoon a 46-year-old man was bitten at Junction View. He was rushed to Gatton Base hospital in a stable condition.
In another frightening encounter, a 46-year-old woman was bitten on the leg by a brown snake, which was found hiding in her car in Far North Queensland on Sunday night.
She was rushed to hospital and was released this morning.
Gold Coasters are being urged to be aware of snakes out and about as the weather starts to warm up.
