Three police officers attacked in Surfers Paradise

Two men are accused of assaulting three Police Officers in Surfers Paradise on Saturday morning.

Around 4.20am Police were called to a brawl in Cavill Mall.

It will be alleged as police arrested one of the men, a second man hit a male constable in the shoulder.

Then it will be further alleged the man then turned on a second male constable hitting the officers in the chest, arms and shoulders.

It will be alleged the man attempted to assault other officers, causing the officers to use OC spray.

The two men were taken into custody without further incident.

A 41-year-old Pimpama man has been charged with one count each of commit public nuisance and contravening a DV order.

He is expected to appear in the Southport Magistrates Court on January 13.

A 29-year-old Robina man has been charged with four counts of assault police and is expected to appear in the Southport Magistrates Court on January 10.

The Officers escaped with minor injuries.
