Man charged over frenzied knife attack

UPDATE: A man has been charged over a frenzied stabbing attack which left a 16-year-old boy in a critical condition and two others injured at a teenager’s birthday party in Sydney’s north overnight.

Emergency services were called to reports of a multiple stabbing at the party on Heydon Avenue at Warrawee at around 11.50pm on Saturday.

The 21-year-old accused attacker was arrested near Hornsby Police Station just before 9am AEDT on Sunday morning.

He has since been charged with three counts of wounding a person with intent to cause grievous bodily harm and one count of possessing or using a prohibited weapon without a permit.

He was refused bail to appear at Hornsby Local Court tomorrow.

10.30AM: A man armed with a knife has stabbed three teenagers at a birthday party on Sydney’s upper north shore.

The uninvited guest reportedly gatecrashed the party at a home on Heydon Avenue at Warrawee just after midnight.

After forcing his way inside the home, he allegedly went on to stab three teenage boys aged 18, 17 and 16.

The youngest victim was rushed to Royal North Shore Hospital in a critical condition.

The two elder victims were taken to the same hospital and are said to be in a stable condition.

Police have set up a crime scene at the address and are desperately trying to track down the offender.
