A three-year-old boy has died after the car he was travelling in crashed near Tamworth in NSW.
It’s understood a Great Wall ute was travelling south on the New England Highway at Moonbi, when it left the road and struck trees and a boulder just before 4.30pm on Sunday.
Emergency crews rushed to the crash site and desperately worked to save the child, who was travelling in the back seat.

Despite their attempts, the youngster sadly died at the scene.
The driver of the vehicle, a 24-year-old man, was airlifted to Tamworth Hospital.
His injuries are not not believed to be life threatening.
Investigations into the crash are ongoing.
