UPDATE at 5:00 PM | TRENT Thorburn has been sentenced to four years in jail for incest and perjury relating to the murder of his 12-year-old foster sister, Tiahleigh Palmer.
The four-year sentence was, however, wholly suspended after 16 months, meaning, given time already served, the 20-year-old will walk free on 20 January 2018.
Thorburn admitted to having a sexual relationship with Tiahleigh before she was killed and pleaded guilty to incest, attempting to pervert the course of justice and perjury in Beenleigh District Court this morning.

Tiahleigh’s foster father Rick Thorburn has been charged with her murder. He is accused of killing the 12-year-old and disposing of her body after it was feared she had fallen pregnant to his son, Trent.
Her body was found on the banks of the Pimpama River in November 2015.
Thorburn’s brother Joshua was jailed for three months in July for perjury and attempting to pervert the course of justice while his mother Julene is awaiting sentencing on similar charges.
