Tickets being snapped up for schoolies fest in Surfers

SCHOOL LEAVERS kicking up their heels in Surfers this week are being told there are still tickets available to the first ever all-age festival being put on just for them.

Tickets are being snapped up fast as some of the world’s biggest DJ’s prepare to perform  live on Surfers Paradise beach.

Schoolies Nation will be held on Thursday and Friday and will feature performances from a whirlwind line-up of internationally acclaimed DJs including Illy, the Stafford Brothers, Bombs Away, Rave Radio, Some Blonde DJ and more.

Schoolies CEO Matt Lloyd is encouraging all school leavers to get in fast to secure tickets to the festival to avoid missing out on an experience of a lifetime.

He said ticket sales to the festival were fast approaching sell out, with almost 5,000 tickets sold to the sought after event.

“It’s going to be a great couple of days and we’re really fortunate to have so many big names performing at the one event over the two nights,” Mr Lloyd said.

“The last allocation of tickets has almost sold out so we’re urging all school leavers to head to the website and purchase a ticket to avoid disappointment.”

Mr Lloyd said the event had proven to be a major drawcard for southern students who usually had limited entertainment during week two of celebrations on the Gold Coast.

“The State Government infrastructure only supports week one of Schoolies so we’re really pleased to be turning things around and providing an event exclusively catering to interstate school leavers,” Mr Lloyd said.

“The Schoolies nation Festival is the first of its kind open to both 17 and 18 year old school leavers, providing an event that can be enjoyed by all school leavers, regardless of age.

“Many of the acts performing on the day are local Australian DJs and producers who have skyrocketed to international fame and are being nominated for awards in Australia and internationally.

“Illy, our headlining act for the event has recently been nominated for an Aria for Best Urban Album and is extremely popular amongst students aged 17 to 18.
“Gold Coast DJ duos the Stafford Brothers and Rave Radio will also be performing at the festival and were voted the two best DJs in QLD at the 2013 inthemix Awards.

“Up and coming Melbourne star Some Blonde DJ is another highly anticipated act who has driven ticket sales.”
