Tiger shark sends swimmers scrambling for dry land on the Gold Coast
BEACHGOERS are being warned to watch out for sharks following a confirmed sighting on the Gold Coast.
Swimmers were ordered out of the water at Palm Beach just before 11am on Saturday after a two metre tiger shark was spotted swimming close to shore.
Surf Life Saving Queensland confirmed the stretch of beach was closed as a precautionary measure.

The beach was reopened at 11.20am after the shark “moved out to sea”, a SLSQ spokeperson said.
Beachgoers at nearby Broadbeach and Surfers Paradise are being warned to keep their eyes peeled.
