Tiger Woods’ horror car crash deemed ‘pure accident’

Authorities in LA have confirmed that golfing legend Tiger Woods will not face criminal charges after his car crash down a hillside yesterday morning.

The former World Number One had to be cut out from his vehicle by the jaws of life, after he veered into oncoming traffic, hit a median strip and flipped down a hill beside the road.

He was rushed to hospital for emergency surgery on his leg, which had been seriously injured in the wreck.

He’s understood to now have a metal rod in his leg between his knee and ankle.

Investigations were then carried out into exactly what may have caused the crash.

But the Los Angeles County Sheriff Alex Villanueva has since confirmed that it was just “purely an accident”.

The black box from the SUV vehicle told police that the car was travelling above the speed limit when it lost control but that’s not unusual for the steep hill road.

Investigators have also ruled out that he may have been under the influence, and know that he was wearing his seatbelt at the time of the incident.

Further inquiries are being made as to whether the golfer may have been distracted on the road.

But for now, no charges are expected to be laid.

Meantime, Tiger Woods is now believed to be responsive in hospital and is recovering well.
