Tiger Woods to sit out the rest of the season

Could this decision spell the end of Tiger Woods career?

The 14-time major winner has announced he will not play in any professional events for the rest of the season as he continues his lengthy recovery from back surgeries.

The former World No.1 has not competed anywhere since last August.

His agent has revealed he is continuing to make progress but is still not ready for competitive golf.

It will be the first time Woods has missed all four of the year’s major championships in his lengthy career.

“We have been in contact with Tiger’s agent, Mark Steinberg, and he informed us today that our four-time PGA Champion will be unable to join us at Baltusrol Golf Club next week for the 98th PGA Championship,” the PGA of America said in statement on Tuesday.

The 40-year-old has not won a tournament since 2013 and last won a major at the 2008 US Open.
