Titans appoint first female chairman in NRL history

THE Gold Coast Titans yesterday appointed a board of four directors, including the first ever female in NRL history.

Gold Coast businesswoman Rebecca Frizelle has been announced as chairman and is the first female club chairperson in the NRL or its previous ARL competition.

Longtime sponsor and supporter of the Titans and manager of James Frizelle’s Automotive Group, Frizelle brings to the role 25 years of business and workforce development, international negotiating experience and a unique depth of the involvement in the Gold Coast community.

Chief operating officer of the Gold Coast Airport and chairman of the Gold Coast Tourism Board, Paul Donovan has also joined the board, along with other members Michael Searle and Daryl Kelly.

Donovan has managed the Gold Coast Airport since 2005 after holding several executive appointments with airlines in Australia and New Zealand for many years.

The board is in the final step in creating a new future for the Titans, complementing the appointment of Graham Annesley as CEO in October last year.
