Titans lock in star forward Tino Fa’asuamaleaui long-term

Gold Coast Titans fans are breathing a massive sigh of relief, with gun forward Tino Fa’asuamaleaui re-signing with the club until at least the end of 2026.

The four-year contract extension is a major coup for the Titans, who managed to stave off an ambitious poaching threat from the Dolphins who were also gunning for the 21-year-old’s signature.

Despite having an option in his favour for 2023, Fa’asuamaleaui has well and truly shown where his loyalties lie by committing to the Gold Coast long term.

The announcement has already had a massive response on social media since news of the extension broke on Monday night, further confirming the impact the Queensland origin star has had on Titans members and fans in just his first year at the club.

“Game changer for the Titans moving forward! The Best signing in the Titans history,” one fan wrote.

“All our Christmases have come early great news that we have tied him down over the moon with this,” wrote another.

A very relieved Titans Coach Justin Holbrook said he is also thrilled Tino has agreed to stay at the Titans.

“Tino is not just a great player, he is a great person,” Holbrook said.

“He’s only entering his second pre-season here at the Titans, but he has already made a huge impact on the players, staff and everyone involved in our club.

“Tino is our hardest working player who sets very high standards for himself and is always doing extras after training to improve his game.”

Holbrook said the re-signing shows the NRL star’s faith in the club.

“He is completely invested in what we are developing here on the Coast with his long term extension proving this,” Holbrook said.

“Alongside a group of mates that are all around the same age, we’ve got a wonderful core group of young players that can bring success to the Gold Coast in the years to come.”

Fa’asuamaleaui this year claimed the Paul Broughton Medal as the Titans best and is the hot favourite to take on the role as captain.
