Titans lose another star with Hoffman off to Parramatta

The Gold Coast Titans have confirmed centre Josh Hoffman will make his way south, after releasing him from the final year of his contract.

Hoffman will now head to the Parramatta Eels after signing a three-year deal.

The 28-year-old has played every Titans match since he joined the club in 2015.

Hoffman said he thoroughly enjoyed his time on the Coast but was excited about the new opportunity.

“Thanks to the club for giving me an opportunity to play on the Gold Coast for two years with a great bunch of teammates,” Hoffman said.

“It was unfortunate how the season ended for us against Brisbane but the future is looking great for the club moving forward and I wish the Titans the very best.

“I want to thank the members and fans for their support, I really enjoyed the rapport the team has with the fans. And to all the boys; it was a pleasure to play alongside such a great bunch of blokes and such committed and tough players.”

Titans coach Neil Henry also wished Hoffman the best.

“I would like to thank Josh for his contribution to the club over the last two seasons. He proved a durable and versatile player and certainly contributed to the improvement in our team. I would like to wish him all the best in the next phase of his football career” said Henry.

Parramatta coach Brad Arthur said the signing would bring skill and versatility to the Eels backline from 2017.

“Josh brings tremendous NRL experience and can play anywhere from 1 to 6 which ensures our squad will have strong competition across multiple positions,” Arthur said.

“He has been a strong and consistent performer for the Titans over the past couple of years and he will provide a strong contribution to the club from 2017 and beyond.”

Hoffman joins Nathan Brown, George Jennings and Siosaia Vave as new signings for the Eels in 2017.
