Gold Coast Titans star David Fifita has been sanctioned by the NRL over a bizarre trespassing incident on the Gold Coast last year.
The 21-year-old has been fined $20,000 for breaching the NRL’s Alcohol Code of Conduct and bringing the game into disrepute.
Fifita was arrested in December after turning up to a Clear Island Waters home where he had reportedly been invited by a woman.

But he entered the wrong room and the residents called Police.
Fifita was questioned but released without charge.
It was later revealed the club made a $10,000 payment to the residents for a security system, prompting the NRL to reopen its investigation.
In a statement, the NRL found that while it was accepted that Fifita was invited to the home, “his conduct in immediately entering on his own showed poor judgment and fell significantly short of his obligations as an NRL player”.
Half of Fifita’s fine will be suspended while he has also been ordered to undergo counselling, education and training.
He will also have to foot the bill for the security system.
The club has been cautioned over its role in the payment but will not face any salary cap implications.
