Toddler dies after being pulled unconscious from backyard pool

A 19-month-old boy has drowned in a backyard pool in Port Stephens.

The toddler was found unconscious in the swimming pool at a home on Marsh Road in the suburb of Bobs Farm around 6.40pm on Sunday.

NSW Ambulance paramedics rushed to the house and desperately tried to save the youngster, however sadly he could not be revived and died at the scene.

A crime scene has since been established with investigations into the circumstances surrounding the toddler’s death ongoing.

Police say initial investigations suggest there were no suspicious circumstances involved.
