Toddler dies in dam tragedy on Gold Coast

A young girl has died after being pulled unconscious from a dam on the Gold Coast.

The three-year-old was discovered in the dam at a property at Gaven around 11am on Saturday morning.

Emergency services, including critical care paramedics treated the girl at the scene.

If you have a pool, the pool fencing regulations are very strict. Dam fencing rules not so much. When we moved to acreage we filled the dam in to avoid this sort of tragedy.

Oh, this is so very heartbreaking. Too often this is happening. Too often. All dams should be fenced off from the home. It’s an avoidable tragedy. Sad.

She died at the scene not at hospital. Took ambulance 20 minutes to get there. Can’t believe the reporters have written this. Someone will be accountable. And it’s not a dam it’s on private property it’s on council land.
