A ONE-year-old girl who fell into a river and almost drowned after wandering away from her family on a camping trip in Victoria remains in a serious condition in hospital.
The toddler fell into the Ovens River in Harrietville in Victoria’s Alpine Region just before midday on Friday.
The little girl was pulled unconscious from the water. It’s understood two police officers performed CPR on the infant for up to 50 minutes until paramedics arrived.

The one-year-old was flown to the Royal Children’s Hospital where she remains today in a serious condition.
