An Aussie music artist has just made history, by landing the number one spot on Spotify.
Byron Bay busker ‘Tones and I’ is the first Australian artist to ever top the Global Chart, for her hit single ‘Dance Monkey’.
It follows her performance at the AFL Grand Final, and 11 weeks at number one on the ARIA Singles Chart (Aussies artists).

‘Dance Monkey’ has already gone four times platinum.
‘Tones and I’ posted to Instragram about the momentous occasion, flooding the caption with love hearts and thanking her listeners *cough, me – you’re welcome – I love you*
“I have the number one most streamed song on Spotify world wide at the moment and an Aussie artist has NEVER done that before!!!!!!!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ THANK YOU” – the caption reads.
The historic chart topping couldn’t have come at a better time, with ‘Tones and I’ also just announcing her North American tour for next year.
