Tony Abbott says he’s there to “pick up the pieces” of the Turnbull Government

Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull is reportedly under pressure to purge his front bench.

Some MPs are urging him to strip Christopher Pyne of his position as Leader of the House, and replace him with Peter Dutton.

It comes as Tony Abbott told colleagues that he is determined to stay in politics until Malcolm Turnbull is gone. He’s promised to “pick up the pieces” when the Turnbull Government fulls apart.

It’s believed Mr Abbott’s message to colleagues was a pledge to give conservative counsel when they need.

The Former PM was rolled by Prime Minister Turnbull two years ago.

Mr Turnbull has denied his leadership is under threat from Mr Abbott.
