Police say they have been pleased with the behaviour of the vast majority of schoolies following the first weekend of celebrations in Surfers Paradise.
Overnight only two school leavers, a male and a female, were charged with four offences which included public nuisance and an assault offence. The arrests related to a disturbance between three male schoolies that occurred near View Street at Surfers Paradise around 12.35am. There were only minor injuries sustained in the incident.
Liquor infringements notices were issued overnight to 42 schoolies.

However, the worst offenders appears to be ‘Toolies’, with 11 people arrested on 13 charges which were not schoolies related and were mainly for drug, public nuisance and good order offences. Nine non-schoolies also received liquor infringement notices.
Paramedics treated 68 people at the precinct overnight, with nine transport to hospital.
QAS Special Events Coordinator, Justin Payne is advising schoolies to stay hydrated by drinking lots water as the temperatures are set to rise again this week.
