Total fire bans are in place across parts of New South Wales today as scorching weather hits the state for the first day of Summer.
The NSW Rural Fire Service has warned that the Illawarra/Shoalhaven, Far South Coast, Southern Ranges and the Lower Central West Plains forecast districts are all facing increased fire risks.
Sydney is set to exceed 35 degrees today, with a cooler southerly change expected around midnight.
