Tourist bashed, kicked in head in brutal unprovoked attack

The 49-year-old victim was walking along Hooker Boulevard outside Dracula’s Cabaret Restaurant in Broadbeach when he was set upon by a group of men about 11 pm on Saturday, October 6.

The man was struck several times in the face and head, causing him to the ground where he was kicked repeatedly in the head before the group ran off.

Police said the attack was brutal was “unexpected”.

The 49-year-old was taken to the Gold Coast University Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries and has since returned to his home interstate.

Investigators today released CCTV images of four men (see them below) who were seen in the area of Hooker Boulevard around the time of the attack and have encouraged them to make contact with police.

Detectives also want to speak with anyone who observed the men between 10.30pm and 11.30pm.
