A French woman has been charged over a crash that killed a teenage Miss World Australia contestant earlier this month.
Investigators from the Cairns Forensic Crash Unit charged the 24-year-old French woman with dangerous operation of a motor vehicle causing death, following ongoing investigations into the horror two-car crash which occurred at Dimbulah on August 3.
In a statement, police said the tourist was allegedly driving on the incorrect side of the road.

“Police allege the 24-year-old woman was driving on the incorrect side of the road at the time of the crash.”
The driver of the other vehicle, a 17-year-old model, suffered critical injuries in the head-on collision and died in hospital nine days later.
The 24-year-old woman is due to appear in the Cairns Magistrates Court on August 22.
