Woman, 25, dies in hospital after crashing pushbike off cliff in Victoria

A 25-year-old woman from the United Kingdom has died in a Victorian hospital after crashing her pushbike off a cliff in the state’s Gippsland region last month.

Police said the woman was riding a bike down Karbeethong Avenue in Mallacoota on the morning of Saturday 9 April when she lost control on a bend near the intersection with Lakeside Drive.

The woman veered off the road and over a 2.5 metre cliff. She suffered life-threatening injuries.


Police released a statement on Saturday morning, confirming the woman had died last Thursday, 12 May.

Her death will not be added to the road toll.
