Toy handgun forces Gold Coast school into lockdown
Police have confirmed there’s nothing to be alarmed about at Emmanuel College after the school was forced into lock-down this morning.
Officers swarmed on the school at Carrara around 10.00am after reports emerged of a person allegedly armed with a shotgun on the school grounds.
It turns out it was all a false alarm, with the cause of the lock-down a student doing a play dress rehearsal with a toy handgun.
“We have had a lock down this morning,” a statement from the school reads.
“Now that we have identified the individual we can confirm there was no threat what-so-ever to the campus but precautions had to be taken.”
