Close to 15,000 Toyota sports cars have been recalled.
The recall affects the Toyota 86 model and is due to the potential loss of power steering assist.
It applies to right-hand drive vehicles equipped with driver’s knee airbags built between April 2012 and March 2015.

An electrical contact failure is linked to an improper wire harness layout.
Toyota Australia will replace the power steering electronic control unit and wire harness in affected vehicles free of charge.
