A tradesman has been charged after an 8-year-old girl was allegedly kidnapped and sexually assaulted in NSW.
Police say the 55-year-old man was working on a house in Wellington when he allegedly persuaded the young girl to get into his vehicle just after midday on Saturday.
The girl was reported missing and a major police investigation was launched.

In a statement, police said “the man allegedly sexually assaulted the girl before returning her an hour later to where she was taken from.”
He was arrested at the scene by officers who had been searching for the child and taken to Wellington police station where he was charged with five offences including – Take person, intend commit serious indictable offence, aggravated sexual assault, sexual intercourse with child under age of 10, procure child less than 14 years to produce child abuse material, and produce child abuse material.
The man appeared in Dubbo Local Court today where he was refused bail to reappear on Wednesday 14 February 2018.
