A horror head-on crash between two trucks is causing traffic chaos on Mount Ousley Road.
The accident occurred just after 10.45am, when a semi-trailer allegedly jack-knifed into the north-bound lanes crashing into another semi-trailer.
One of the trucks, carrying dirt, rolled onto its side, trapping its driver who has since been freed.

As a result, both directions have been blocked.
Northbound traffic is reportedly banked back to the University of Wollongong and is being directed to Memorial Drive.
Southbound traffic is being filtered to Mount Pleasant Road and by the Sutherland Highway Patrol to Lawrence Hargrave Drive.

Roads and Maritime Services has agreed to re-open Bulli Pass, currently closed for development, to alleviate the traffic backlog.
Both truck drivers have been treated for minor injuries.
Investigations into the cause of the crash are ongoing.
