A TRAFFIC controller has been rushed to hospital after being struck by lightning on the Gold Coast.
The woman, aged in her 50s, was performing traffic control duties in Helensvale when lightning struck a pole she was holding just before 3:30pm.
She was treated at the scene by paramedics before being rushed by ambulance to the Gold Coast University Hospital.

A Queensland Ambulance spokesperson said the woman was transported in a stable condition.
It comes as a very dangerous thunderstorm skimmed passed the Gold Coast and slammed into Brisbane.
