A LITTLE boy is fighting for life in hospital following a horror crash that claimed the life of his mother in Queensland.
Natasha Wilson, 26, and her eight-year-old son, Mason, were both critically injured when the family car collided head-on with a ute in Mount Isa on Friday.
Emergency services rushed to the scene on Camooweal Street just after 3.30pm but sadly there was nothing they could do to save Natasha and she died from her injuries at the scene.

Mason was rushed to the Townsville Hospital where he remained in a critical condition on Saturday.
His two-year-old sister, Amatiel, was also in the car at the time but escaped with less serious injuries.
She was taken to Mount Isa Hospital in a stable condition, along with the occupants of the ute, two men aged 44 and 57.
It’s understood the family is originally from Ipswich and had moved to Mount Isa just before Christmas last year.
Natasha’s sister Krystle Wilson has issued a heartfelt plea online, begging for help to bring her body back home so that she can be laid to rest close to her family.
“Natasha was a strong, young woman with a beautiful, bubbly personality … fun and full of life,” she said.
“After fighting so hard to save her little girl’s life through open-heart surgery, sadly Natasha will not be here to watch her little girl grow into a woman and her son who is still in a critical condition pull through this and grow to be a man.”
Ms Wilson set up a GoFundMe page on Saturday to help with donations so that she could bring her sister’s body home.
More than $1500 out of a $4,000 goal had been raised in the first four hours of the page being active.
“We are asking people to please help us bring Natasha’s body home and give this beautiful young woman the burial and send off she deserves and so she can be buried near her family and where her children will be raised,” Ms Wilson said.
“Any donation will be gratefully appreciated.”
Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash and will prepare a report for the Coroner.
