Police launched a major search around 3.30pm while Elenore’s grandmother launched a plea on Facebook to help find her.

At the height of the search more than 200 Police, emergency services and community members joined the search while a helicopter was also brought in to assist.

The reaction from the community was so large, Police at one stage were forced to ask that no one else join the search effort.

Around midnight, the body of the three-year-old was found in a dam just 150 metres from the family home.

Police are investigating the death and preparing a report for the coroner.

They have thanked local community members, SES and Rural Fire Brigade who assisted with the search for the child.
