Train delays for Gold Coast commuters

There have been delays of up to 30 minutes on the Gold Coast train line this morning.

Translink said a points or telemetry failure caused the hold ups at Eagle Junction Station in Brisbane.

Telemetry is an automated communications process by which measurements and other data are collected at remote or inaccessible points.

That data is then sent to receiving equipment for monitoring.

The fault affected the Gold Coast, Brisbane Airport Shorncliffe and Caboolture line.

The problem caused issues between 5:00 and 5:30am.  Trains have been running on time since 5:45am.
