Public transport will be free for Gold Coast commuters from 8:45PM on New Year’s Eve. The deal, which comes after hundreds of services were cancelled on Christmas Day, will remain until 5:30AM on New Year’s Day.
Minister for Transport and the Commonwealth Games, Stirling Hinchliffe said all passengers on the Translink network would ride free.
“More than 30 extra, free buses will be rolled-out on the Coast for New Year’s Eve with G:Link trams also running every seven and a half minutes until 2am and then every 15 minutes,” Minister Hinchliffe said.
