Transport chaos as train hits broken down car on railway crossing

A TRAIN has hit a broken down car on a railway crossing at Unanderra in the New South Wales Illawarra region.

Emergency services rushed to the scene following reports a train had struck a car,

Thankfully, nobody was in the car at the time.

Buses have replaced trains between Dapto and Wollongong and The Princes Highway also remains closed in both directions
