A quintessential Aussie event is making a return to Ballina this weekend – the Ballina Prawn Festival.
On Saturday 12 November, seafood lovers are expected to flood to the banks of the Richmond River for a delicious day and night the whole family can enjoy.
The home of the big prawn will come alive for the event, which not only celebrates seafood fare, but the wonderful laid-back Ballina lifestyle.

There will of course be plenty of delectable cuisine, from fresh prawns and oysters to woodfired pizza, tempura, teriyaki, paella, dumplings, burgers, pancakes and much, much more.
Festival goers can also show off their superior shelling skills in the King & Queen Prawn Shelling Competition, or get a hit of adrenalin thanks to the Fair Go Skateboarding Fest.
The kids will be kept busy with plenty of exciting rides to try, while adults can sit back after a feed and enjoy live music and entertainment.
Entry to the Ballina Prawn Festival is $5 for kids, $10 for adults or $30 for a family of 2 adults and 4 children. Tickets are on sale now online or can be purchased at the main gate on the day.
