TRIBUTES are pouring in for British actor and comedian Rik Mayall, who has died aged 56.
Best known for his role as Rick in the cult BBC series The Young Ones, Mayall also starred in Blackadder and Bottom as well as films including Drop Dead Fred.
News.com.au reports, police are investigating the cause of his shock death.

His wife Barbara Robbin believes he may have had a fit: “Maybe he had a fit, maybe it was his heart. We just don’t know.”
“He had a strong heart, so I don’t think it was a heart attack. But we just don’t know until the coroner’s report,” Robbin told The Telegraph, outside the couple’s home in Barnes, south-west London.
The couple have three children together.
Young Ones and Bottom co-star Adrian Edmondson has led the tributes to his good mate: “There were times when Rik and I were writing together when we almost died laughing.”
“They were some of the most carefree stupid days I ever had, and I feel privileged to have shared them with him. And now he’s died for real. Without me. Selfish b*****d.”
