Popular Gold Coast photographer Dale Sharpe is being remembered as an inspiration after he was tragically killed in a freak accident in the US.
The 36-year-old struck a deer while travelling on a highway in Kansas.
Mr Sharpe was waiting on the side of the road after smoke started billowing from the engine.

Shortly after, another vehicle was travelling along the road when it swerved to avoid his vehicle.
Mr Sharpe tried to jump into a ditch to avoid being hit but he was struck by the other car.
He was treated by paramedics and rushed to hospital but sadly died a short time later.
Mr Sharpe leaves behind his fiance Karlie and 10-month-old daughter Mia.
His family confirmed the devastating news on his Instagram page overnight.
“Dale was loved by many and will be deeply missed.”
“On behalf of the family we thank you for all your support, but ask that you respect our privacy at this difficult time.”
Mr Sharpe’s being remembered as a successful, passionate photographer, loving partner and father and generous friend to all.
He was well known for his stunning shots of weather events and landscapes from around the world.
A GoFundMe page has been set up to help his partner and daughter.
It aims to raise $30,000, with more than $9,000 pledged already.
Contributors to the fund have expressed their shock on the page with Mr Sharpe described as a legend of the community and a true inspiration to those who followed his craft.
