Trio accused of killing Max Waller in Broadbeach refused bail

THREE men accused of murdering Max Waller in Broadbeach last year have been denied bail this morning.

Mr Waller died after being stabbed repeatedly in the chest outside a Broadbeach apartment complex on June 23, 2013.

A strong police presence was on hand as Wade Yates-Taui, Cohen Andrew Smith and Benjamin Thomas Mortimer appeared in the Southport Magistrates Court.

Smith and Mortimer are both charged with Murder, while Taui – who was extradited from the US – faces a lesser charge of unlawful killing.

The trio was remanded in custody and will front Court again in October.
