Trio accused of using drug money to fund high-life on the Gold Coast

A MONGOLS bikie has been charged with laundering drug money to fund a lavish lifestyle on the Gold Coast.

The 32-year-old man’s cashed-up world came crashing down around him on Tuesday when Federal and Queensland Police, along with a team of tax agents, raided his plush mansion.

He, along with two women aged 32 and 56, were arrested and charged with money laundering and other offences.

Police allege the man is a “senior associate” of the Mongols Outlaw Motorcycle Gang and the trio are long-time residents of the Gold Coast.

It’s understood the unemployed man’s extravagant lifestyle choices had raised the eyebrows of the authorities.

AFP Detective Superintendent Russel Smith said the trio had “accumulated wealth beyond their means”.

Officers also took possession of four homes worth $3.5 million during the operation.

The 32-year-old man was due to front court today, while the two women are due to appear at a later date.
