Trio charged with deliberately lighting Sydney fires

Two teenagers and a young man have been charged after they allegedly lit several fires in bushland at Bidwill overnight.

Police say that about 10.30pm, officers were called to Cupania Crescent after firies extinguished a number of small spot fires in the area.

Investigations commenced and shortly after police arrested two teenagers, aged 17 and 15 and a 20-year-old man.

The trio were taken to Mt Druitt Police Station where they were charged with set fire to property – the 15-year-old will be dealt with under the Young Offenders Act.
