Trio charged over million-dollar MDMA haul

THREE men have been arrested and charged after more than $1 million worth of MDMA was seized in Brisbane.

Following a protracted investigation by Queensland Police and the Australian Criminal Intelligence Commission, officers raided three properties in South Brisbane on Wednesday night.

During the operation, police allegedly seized 6.6kg of MDMA, $31,450 in cash and a handgun with a silencer attached. Police said the MDMA is estimated to be worth around $1.3 million.

Three men aged 22, 24, and 26 were arrested and charged with 34 offences between them, including trafficking, supplying and possessing dangerous drugs.

The younger man is charged with 14 offences, including unlawfully Cupplying a category H weapon while the 24-year-old is charged with 13 offences, including possessing a Category H weapon.

The older man is charged with seven offences, including possessing dangerous drugs and the proceeds of crime.’

The men, from Holland Park, Tanah Merah and Mt Gravatt were due to front Brisbane Magistrates Court today.
