Trio hospitalised after separate traffic incidents on the Gold Coast

THREE men were hospitalised within an hour following three separate traffic incidents on the Gold Coast last night.

Paramedics were first called to an incident involving a car and a cyclist on Toombul Avenue and the Gold Coast Highway at Miami just after 7pm on Wednesday.

It’s understood a man aged in his 40s was riding a bike when he was struck by a car. He was taken to Gold Coast University Hospital in a stable condition with a shoulder injury.

Then, around 7.45pm, paramedics were again called to the Gold Coast Highway at Miami following a two-car crash.

A man aged in his 20s was injured in the collision. He too was transported to the University Hospital in a stable condition.

Just minutes later, about 7.50pm, a pedestrian was struck by a car on the corner of Old Burleigh Road and George Avenue in Broadbeach.

The man, also aged in his 40s, suffered a suspected shattered collarbone. He was transported stable to the Pindara Private Hospital.
