Trio of thieves smash through Gold Coast grocery store for cigarettes

Investigations are underway after a group of thieves broke into a store and stole cigarettes on the northern Gold Coast overnight.

Initial inquiries suggest that three men broke into the grocery store at the corner of Carter Street and Reserve Road in Coomera around 2.15 am.

They smashed through glass doors to gain entry before raiding the cigarette cabinets.

They stole a number of cigarettes before fleeing the scene in a car, and remain on the run this morning.

Police are now investigating and are calling on anyone with information to come forward.
