A mahunt is underway for three people following a series of frightening armed robberies in Broadbeach overnight.
The first incident happened just after 10.15pm, when a woman was approached by three men in a car at the intersection of Australia Avenue and Jubilee Avenue.
Police say one man allegedly had a baseball bat and threatened the woman before she gave the man her handbag and mobile phone.

Just 5 minutes later, another woman was threatened by a man allegedly armed with a baseball bat in the driveway of a home on Waitomo Street.
Thankfully she was able to jump back into her car and drive away.
It wasn’t long before the trio continued their crime spree, carjacking a man on Maureen Court in Broadbeach Waters.
The group managed to take off in the victim’s blue 2004 BMW hatch bearing Queensland registration 117WDR and was last seen travelling along Sunshine Boulevard in Broadbeach Waters in the company of a Ford Falcon sedan believed to have been used in the other armed robberies.
The three men remain on the run, with police believing they may have crossed the border into Tweed Heads.
They’re described as being in their late teens/early 20s, thin builds and wearing black clothing.
