“The Gold Coast Titans today confirm that, after an incident involving Titans player James Roberts in Surfers Paradise last weekend, James was charged by police for committing a public nuisance and obstructing a police officer,” the statement read.
“The NRL integrity unit was notified immediately the club became aware of the charges and we will continue to work through the issue with the NRL.”
It’s not the first time Roberts has been in hot water, after being previously sacked from the Panthers and Rabbitohs for alcohol-related incidents.
The NRL says it will wait for police to conclude their investigations, before deciding on any penalties.
