Truck driver in hospital with life-threatening injuries after Brisbane crash

A MAN is fighting for life in hospital following a nasty crash between two trucks in Brisbane overnight.

Police said a semitrailer and B-double truck collided on Port Drive at Lytton around 9.20pm.

One of the truck drivers, a 58-year-old man, sustained life-threatening injuries in the collision.


He was treated by paramedics at the scene before being rushed to the Princess Alexandra Hospital.

Police said the man was transported in a critical condition.

The second driver was taken to the same hospital with less serious injuries.

Port Road was closed near the Port of Brisbane Motorway for a number of hours following the crash.

The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating the circumstances surrounding the collision.

Witnesses have been urged to come forward and call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
