Truck driver taken to hospital in shock after pedestrian hit and killed in horror accident

A TRUCK driver has been taken to hospital in shock after running over and killing a pedestrian in a horror accident on Sydney’s M4 Motorway in the city’s west.

It happened on the M4 near the Mulgoa Road on-ramp at Penrith just before 12.30pm.

Police said a man was struck and killed by the truck in the eastbound lanes of the motorway.

The man driving the truck was taken to Nepean Hospital suffering shock, police said.

He will also be subjected to mandatory drug and alcohol testing.

Police are investigating the tragic incident and will prepare a report for the information of the Coroner.
